Birthday Girl

Today is Madeline's Real 5th Birthday March 4!  She was very excited to be queen for the day at school and we took in cupcakes.  So when I woke her up and told her HAPPY BIRTHDAY your a year older.  She proceeded to ask me if her boobies were getting bigger--I swear...She has never even acknowledged the little things before.  I tried not to laugh and told her I am sure they are growing.  I wonder what the 6th birthday question will be.

Late yesterday afternoon I got a phone call from surgery. They have a cancellation and could I do the surgery in two days? My first intuition was to hop in the car (even though I am grounded from driving-its driving me crazy) and head to San Diego. Then a second wave of fear set in, with finally I cant.  I got to much to do, peoples to see, family coming in to help with the kids, lives to organize, bills to pay, laundry to do, clean out the car, potty train my 3 yo, pick lint from the carpet etc. etc. The other kicker is Art being a freelancer with no notice would be fired for sure and we have to keep the boat floating.  The scheduler assured me that it was OK to keep the March 12 date for sanity.  The tumor has been there for maybe 10 years, so I don't think the week was going to make a hugh difference.  Symptoms are still being control with the steroids and I am getting hungry all the time.  Slept OK last night-not great, feeling a little fatigued and still seeing the spiders. Otherwise I am feeling good!-Cant complain!

Speaking of hungry my mother in law Judi is on a cooking frenzy and the fun has not even begun.  She brought over chicken last night.  Her main goal in life this week is to fatten me up for surgery and I love it!!
